Annual Vignette

Annual vignette illustration
The annual vignette offers the best value for regular Czech motorway users.

The annual Czech digital vignette is valid for 13 calendar months from the first day of the month in which it is purchased. For example, if you purchase an annual vignette in March 2024, it will be valid until 31 March 2025. This generous validity window is designed to ensure that drivers who purchase at any point during a month receive a full year of coverage.

The annual vignette is the most cost-effective option for drivers who regularly use Czech motorways. At approximately 2,300 CZK, it represents significantly better value than purchasing multiple short-term vignettes over the course of a year. For a driver who uses Czech motorways even four or five times per year, the annual vignette is almost always the better financial choice.

Short-Term Vignettes

Short-term vignette illustration
10-day and 30-day vignettes are ideal for visitors and occasional motorway users.

The Czech digital vignette system offers two short-term options: the 10-day vignette and the 30-day vignette. These are designed for visitors to the Czech Republic, drivers making occasional motorway journeys, or those who only need motorway access for a specific trip.

10-Day Vignette

The 10-day vignette is valid for exactly 10 consecutive days from the chosen start date. It is the most affordable option and is well-suited for short visits, transit journeys or weekend trips. At approximately 310 CZK, it offers good value for a single trip or a short stay.

30-Day Vignette

The 30-day vignette is valid for 30 consecutive days from the chosen start date. At approximately 440 CZK, it is suitable for extended visits, business trips or situations where you need motorway access over several weeks but do not require a full annual vignette.

Vehicle Categories

Vehicle categories illustration
Different vehicle types fall under different vignette categories.

The Czech digital vignette system categorises vehicles into three main groups for vignette purposes. It is essential to select the correct category when purchasing, as an incorrect category renders the vignette invalid.

Boundaries and Exceptions

The following situations fall outside the standard vignette rules and require special attention:

  1. Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes use the electronic mýtné system, not vignettes
  2. Trailers and caravans require a separate vignette for the trailer
  3. Diplomatic vehicles are exempt under international treaty provisions
  4. Vehicles with a valid ZTP/P disabled badge are exempt (one vehicle per badge holder)
  5. Emergency service vehicles (police, fire, ambulance) are exempt
  6. Military vehicles on official duty are exempt
  7. The Blanka tunnel in Prague requires a separate city toll, not a vignette
  8. Some sections of road that appear to be motorways are actually first-class roads and do not require a vignette — check signage carefully
